Six zonals across the box with two post guards

How it works

Six defenders take zones across the box, two more cover the posts, and nobody follows a runner. Each defender attacks anything that enters his zone and does not leave it. It concedes the second ball more often than man-marking, but no attacker can drag a defender out of position, which is what most attacking routines are built to do. There are no runs to animate here — a zonal setup is a shape.
