An inswinger to the penalty spot makes the goalkeeper choose — and any touch can score.

From a wide free kick, whip an inswinger between keeper and defence; attackers attack the spot, and even a deflection beats the keeper.

The setup

A wide free kick on the right. Two runners stage centrally behind the defensive line.

The movement

The taker whips an inswinger toward the spot; runners attack the dropping zone where keeper and defenders both hesitate.

Coaching points

• Strike across the ball so it curls in toward goal — the keeper can’t come and can’t stay.
• Aim for the penalty spot: it splits the gap between the last defender and the keeper.
• Runners attack from deep so they’re moving onto the ball, not waiting under it.
