The Back-Post Overload
Win the back post 3-v-2 and you’ll out-jump any zonal marking scheme.
Stack three attackers at the back post against two markers, hang the delivery deep, and attack it on the move.
The setup
Three attackers gather at the back post, outnumbering the markers there. The taker sets to hang it deep.
The movement
The runners peel onto the dropping ball as a group; one arrives unmarked to attack it at pace.
Coaching points
- Three runners against two markers guarantees a free header if timed right.
- Float the corner beyond the six-yard box so the keeper can’t claim it.
- Attack the ball moving forward — a static header rarely beats the goalkeeper.
