Play short, draw defenders, cross from byline

How it works

The taker plays short to a supporting player, creating two against one against the single defender who steps out. If the defender presses the receiver, the taker overlaps to the byline; if he holds, the receiver drives inside. The point is to make the box defend a cross from a different angle than it has set up for.
